Stollen and EU

of approval
ONLY REAL WITH THE GOLDEN SEAL.
Comprehensive protection and quality guarantee
The golden, oval seal stands for the tested and consistently high quality of every Dresdner Christstollen. Only stollen that meet the high requirements of the Stollen Protective Association’s statutes are allowed to bear this seal as a mark of the highest quality and authenticity.
In addition, the certificate with a control number on the seal provides information about the origin and quality of this traditional Christmas pastry. Consumers can use the 6-digit seal number to trace which bakery their Dresdner Christstollen comes from.
Dresdner Christstollen is handmade in and around Dresden strictly according to traditional recipes.
The EU quality seal identifies products and foods whose origin can be directly attributed to a specific geographical location or region. Dresdner Christstollen is one of the products with a protected geographical indication. In addition to the golden stollen seal, this traditional Christmas pastry also bears the circular blue and yellow EU Community symbol. In Germany, geographical indications of origin are also laid down in trademark law.
Dresdner Christstollen is listed in the European register of protected designations of origin and geographical indications—the “EU quality register.” This register is maintained and monitored by the European Union. Alongside Lübeck marzipan and Schwarzwälderschinken, Dresdner Christstollen is one of Germany’s protected products.
